TIMERGARA: The Shura of the Tanzim Nifaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi has endorsed the outcome of the talks with the government and announced to reach the troubled Swat valley at 11am today (Tuesday) to fulfil its promise of restoring peace.

A ‘peace camp’ established by Maulana Sufi Muhammad on October 9, 2008 at the Rest House Ground here is being wrapped up today. The black-turbaned activists of the TNSM headed by Sufi Muhammad will leave the town for the volatile Swat valley at 11am. The spokesman for the TNSM said that they would remain in Swat till restoration of calm.

Maulana Sufi Muhammad had promised to convince Maulana Fazlullah of renouncing militancy and fight him if he refused after the enforcement of a Nizam-e-Adl Regulation. The government in consultation with him announced the promulgation of the same on Monday.

The camp would now be shifted to Mingora or Matta. Sufi is expected to hold public gatherings in the valley to persuade the people, particularly those who had picked up arms, stop fighting after the government Nizam-e-Adl Regulation had been promulgated.

The government as well the people of Malakand Division, particularly Swat, have pinned high hopes on the octogenarian leader of the TNSM to play a decisive role in convincing the militants to lay down arms and restore peace.
