Residents in Pakistan's northwestern Swat valley are living in fear of armed Talibans campaigning against the government. Despite the presence of thousands of troops, the Taliban remains firmly in control of Swat in Pakistan's northwest. Policemen and common people have been beheaded in the streets, men lashed and schools burnt down under Taliban justice. Some 400 private schools enrolling 40,000 girls have been shut down
Fighters with the Pakistani Taliban have agreed to a ceasefire in the Swat valley, under the condition that Islamic law be implemented in the region.
Al Jazeera's Imran Khan reports from Islamabad, where many fear that the agreement could come at too high a price.
