The Taliban have started advancing into the Buner region after consolidating their control on Swat. In a clash with local people of Buner they have killed five people and put a large number of houses on fire. The local people tried to stop the Taliban from stepping into that region but they failed. The Taliban have also set up a base camp there and said that they will not leave this region. Today our rulers have fallen into a deep and peaceful slumber and there is no one to help the people of Buner. But tomorrow when the Taliban will strengthen their control and start imposing Bin Laden's Sharia in that region, the ill-witted people representing the ANP will clamour that that they have to cede the authority to the Taliban for the establishment of peace. This incident has proved that our present government, not to mention their capability, is not even willing to eradicate terrorism.
Recently Mullah Nazeer has said that the day is not for away when the Taliban will also capture Islamabad. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani are still too busy in deciding as to who the real chief executive of the country is, so we should not expect anything good from them in this regard. I most humbly request General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani to take immediate action and stop the Taliban from advancing into other settled areas of Pakistan.

Now is the turn of Buner where the Taliban have advanced and recently killed three policemen and two civilians. The people of Buner have preferred to defend their villages, but there is no sign of sending armed forces by the government for their protection. What a shame! Is this what the peace deal was signed for?
