It doesn't really matter whether the video of the flogged girl in Swat is fake or not -- the fact is that the Taliban have carried out precisely such things in the past and that is a matter which is well-documented. The fact also is -- and again a well-documented one -- that the Taliban did this, and much worse, when they were in power in Afghanistan. As for Sufi Mohammad, I cannot for the world of me understand why he has been given so much importance by the provincial government? Who is he? He is not elected -- the people of Swat gave their votes to the ANP -- and look what the ANP did with that mandate.
