Parliament to decide on NAR for Swat: PM

MULTAN: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said here Saturday that the Swat peace accord would be discussed in the Parliament to evolve a consensual national strategy.
He was talking to media after addressing members of South Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Prime Minister said everyone agrees that there should be a final decision on implementation of Nizam-e-Adl regulation. This is directly related to establishment of peace in Swat, he added.
The Premier told the media that the President has not signed the draft of the regulation. “It is my opinion that the matter be tabled before the Parliament,” he added.
To a question regarding efforts made for inclusion of Pakistan Muslim League-N in the Federal Government, he said he had conveyed the message of Co-chairman PPP to Shahbaz Sharif in this regard. Now whatever decision he would take we will respect it, he said.
Replying to a question the Prime Minister said the assassination of three Baloch leaders was extremely condemnable act. “Let us wait for the judicial commission’s report in this regard”,he said.
To another question,he said that as he had earlier stated drone attacks were not likely in Balochistan. As for drone attacks on Fata and other areas, he said these had proved counter-productive and the government had been pressing for an end to such raids.
Responding to a question about some Pakistani students’ arrest in the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister said that the matter was being investigated and it was premature to say anything about it.
